BASC-IAS to offer BS Development Communication Program soon

Bulacan Agricultural State College – Institute of Arts and Sciences will soon offer a Bachelor of Science in Development Communication on its main campus for the first semester of Academic Year 2022-2023.

In the feasibility study conducted by IAS, 33.6% or 329 out of 980 respondents expressed their interest in the BS DevCom program.

One of the “in-demand and hard-to-fill occupations in the region is Communication Personnel”, according to the Regional Labor Market Situationer of Region III. One of which involves skills that can be honed under communication courses such as technical writing and public speaking.

Moreover, CHED identified BS Development Communication as one of the priority courses and related disciplines to address the manpower requirements of the labor market. 

“According to discussions with certain DevCom teachers, DevCom graduates have a 90% employability rate since they are recognized as Jack of All Trades for having a variety of abilities in addition to being communication specialists” Ms. Eiffel Nunez, IAS Associate Dean stated.

BSDEVCOM graduates can find work in a variety of fields based on interviews of BSDEVCOM faculty from Reg. 3 SUCs, including those listed below:
